The space

This 170-year-old house has been renovated to match the exact materials and architecture used on the old houses of Lefkada but without missing any of the modern amenities and comforts needed for a pleasant and carefree vacation on the island. Walk through the venetian alleys and experience the local life of the historical center. Get familiar with the island customs and products and be close to restaurants and to the nearby crystal blue water beaches. 

The house has a combination of a vintage-rustic modern aesthetic with many furniture and other details to make it cozy and  functional. It has 2 levels with 1 master bedroom and a queen bed, 1 spacious living room with a sofa double bed and a chair bed, 1 open plan kitchen with a dinning table for 6, 1 bathroom w/ bathtub on the attic, garden and  barbecue. 

The floor on the living room is made of cork which is a healthy and durable material as well as soundproofed. The living room has mild colors and has its own private wooden balcony. There is a wooden sofa that you can lay down and watch a movie or chill out with friends, there is also a double sofa  bed (1,40cm x 2,00cm), a big chair bed (1,10cm x 2,00cm), 2 arm chairs, 1 office table and 1 dinning table for 6 persons. 

The air-condition unit and the ceiling fan will make the hot days cooler. The working fireplace and central heating will on the other hand make the cold days warmer. There is a brand new 43' Sony 4k TV and a professional  studio speaker by KRK for excellent sound experience and music listening. There are also HDMI cables and mini jack audio wires for your laptop/smartphone/iPod device and even a movie projector for a more demanding situation. The high speed WiFi internet available 24h (35MBs) will make things easier for every guest.

The kitchen has all the necessary appliances/pots/utensils  to make your daily cooking life more convenient. There is also a coffee maker and an espresso machine with coffee tabs as well as a dishwasher and a washing machine. The big dining table will make you feel more comfortable during breakfast/lunch/dinner.

There are wooden stairs coming from the living area to the master bedroom in the attic. The master bedroom has a brand new mattress with multiple springs for 2 persons which is very comfortable for sleeping. It has also an air-condition unit and a ceiling fan. There is a big closet and a drawer furniture for your clothes and the bathroom has a vintage type of bathtub.

The garden/yard is a very special place to relax under the shadow. During the night you can also have candles for a more romantic atmosphere. You can also use the barbecue in the occasion of a dinner.

Guest access

The house has 3 floors. The rental home is on the 1st/2nd floor of the house and it is accessed from the yard's main entrance. By entering the yard there are stone stairs to reach the 1st floor and the private entrance of the rental home.  

The ground floor is separated from the 1st floor and is occupied by a bookshop which also has its own private entrance and exit door to the garden/yard. The yard is typically shared with the bookshop's staff mostly during working days/hours (9am to 5pm), so if you are a bibliophile you may have a nice book- conversation with them. Also on some occasions you might be lucky to see an evening event in the garden. 

Both floors have their own privacy and independence. Additionally, the 1st floor (rental home) has a soundproofed floor so it's not possible to hear any sounds or noises coming from the bookshop or vice-versa. You will both be able to enjoy your quiet or loud moments  :) Just keep in mind that from 14:00 pm to 17:00 p.m. and from 22:00 pm to 08:00 am it's the siesta time (quiet hours) in Lefkada.

  • Using sunscreen oil/cream may cause stains in bed linens. Please take a shower first.

  • Please remember to turn off the outdoor lights when you go to sleep.
  • All guests should store, transfer, transport and dispose all garbages to the systems provided by the municipality of Lefkada.  The grey bins are for waste and the blue bins for recycling.
  • Don't use the barbecue when temperatures are high or when it is windy.

The house is located  in a very central spot which is quiet and at the same time close to the action of Lefkada town. In 1 minute walking distance you can be in a restaurant, bakery, mini market, kiosk, shop and everything else you can imagine. You can walk through the historical center, the pedestrian street and all the small alleys with ease. The town is also close to some of the famous beaches such as Ai Giannis, Gyra, Kastro. For the reason that the town is settled in a flat area you can easily walk or cycle towards those beaches.

Getting around / Parking options / Coordinates
There are two free of charge parking areas in 80 meters distance from the house. The parking area is on a central location, it's safe and very close to the house. It is not possible to park your car on the house street because the streets in the old town of Lefkada are pedestrian streets. On the other hand, residents of the old town are allowed to bring their car outside the house for a limited time only. So, anytime you like you can drive the car through the alley (pedestrian street) to unload your shopping bugs/luggages. Once you have taken out all of your things you should drive the car back to the specified municipality parking area.
