Festival of Lefkadian gastronomy

If you love food then make a date with the Lefkadian Gastronomy Festival. The 2019 event will run from Saturday 20th – Sunday 21 (Markas square). This vibrant festival is a mecca for foodies and local producers alike. You can enjoy local traditional dishes, handmade pies, sausages, amazing lentils, fine wine etc.

3. Dive and admire

Lefkada is one of the best and most rewarding diving destinations in Greece. The stunning bottom topography will amaze all levels of divers. Walls, drop offs, caves and caverns are some of the underwater landscapes of the area. Lefkada is characterized as a Natura 2000 protected area and its typical Mediterranean temperate reefs are full of life and rich in marine biodiversity. If you are planning to visit Lefkada, you shall not miss the opportunity to go diving in the crystal clear blue water at the south and east side of the island. Check here.

5.Visit the mountainous Lefkada

Mountainous Lefkada has a vivid traditional character and is the perfect choice for nature lovers. The picturesque stone-built houses and the ceaseless variety of nature in the villages that form the region of Sfakiotes , enchant visitors from the first glance. In Karya, the traditional head village, huge centuries-old plane trees surround the charming square, which during the summer months is full of life. Drymonas, Exantheia and Chortata are rightly described as the Ionina balcony, since the panoramic sea view captivates the visitor with its imposing presence.
