Established in 1977, Pantazis Taverna is one of the most famous taverns on the island. It is located in the harbour of Nikiana at the end of the road and in front of a beautiful, small beach with fabulous views across the sea to the Greek mainland. You can enjoy great quality traditional home-made Greek food in a quiet, comfortable and friendly environment. Giannoula cooks every day with care using fresh fish and seafood supplied daily by the fishermen of the island.
In our restaurant you can enjoy fresh local fish and seafood, for all tastes and all budgets. Choose from grilled sardines, whitebait, anchovies fried or marinated, mullet, cod, bream, sea bream and many more depending on the catch of the day. Still, you can order freshly prepared fish soup, with any fish of your choice, cooked with the finest materials and care just for you. Of course a wide variety of seafood is available - the freshest shrimps in many delicious variations, octopus in vinegar or grilled, fresh calamari fried and grilled, delicious mussel pilaf, steamed mussels or “saganaki”. Do not miss our famous spaghetti with shrimps and a light but delicious sauce of fresh tomatoes, basil and garlic.
Pantazis Taverna is also famous for its homemade greek cuisine. You can choose from a wide variety of freshly prepared dishes such as stuffed tomatoes, “ imam”, mousaka, lamb “stamna” and many others.
In Taverna Pantazis you can also taste excellent quality grilled meats such as lamb chops, pork and veal chops, chicken fillet, pork and chicken souvlaki, delicious homemade beef burger plain or stuffed with feta cheese Dodoni.
You should definitely try one of our unique desserts prepared in our kitchen and generously offered by the restaurant. Apart from the classic yogurt with honey, “baklava” and “galaktoboureko”, we suggest the refreshing cream caramel or a gentle panacotta.
The same customers have visited the taverna for years and the new visitors leave satisfied and return again and again. Pantazis Taverna has the Certification of Greek Cuisine, awarded by the Greek National Tourism Organization - proof of the quality of service and food offered by the restaurant but also as a reward for the labours of the owners.
